Sunday with Friends: An Afternoon with John Hough, Jr.

http://library.clamsnet.org/record=b1936326~S1On Sunday, July 20th at 2pm, the Friends of the Vineyard Haven Public Library will present an afternoon with Vineyard author John Hough, Jr. at the Library. Mr. Hough will read from and discuss his newly published novel, Little Bighorn. This event is free, and refreshments will be served. Doors will open at 1:30 pm for the event.

John Hough, Jr. grew up in Falmouth, Massachusetts and now lives on Martha’s Vineyard. His grandfather and his father edited the Falmouth Enterprise and his great-uncle was for many years the editor of the Vineyard Gazette. Hough is the author of five previous novels, including Seen the Glory: A Novel of the Battle of Gettysburg, and three works of nonfiction.

The Friends of the Library support a variety of programs for both adults and children throughout the year, including an annual summer event honoring a local author. Past honorees have included Geraldine Brooks, Art Buchwald, Stephen Carter, Phil Craig, Jules Feiffer, Lillian Hellman, Ward Just, David McCullough, Cynthia Riggs, and William Styron.
