The Vineyard Haven Public Library will be closed for Memorial Day on Monday, May 28th.
On Friday May 25th, students from the Tisbury School will participate in their annual Memorial Day parade. Students will carry flowers from the School to the harbor, commemorating those who gave their lives for their country. The ceremony will begin at the School at 12:30pm, marching via Spring Street and Main Street, and ending at Owen Park at approximately 1:15pm.
On Monday, the town of Tisbury will hold a Memorial Day Picnic from noon to 4 pm on the grounds of the restored Tashmoo Spring Building on West Spring Street off State Road. Entertainment will include live music by the Flying Elbows, as well as outdoor games, chalk art, and rowboat rides. Grills and free ice cream will be provided by the Town. An historical exhibit by Chris Baer will also be showcased at the Spring Building. Bring your own picnic food and supplies, and please leave your dogs at home.
