Art in the Stacks: John Holladay
The Friends of the Vineyard Haven Library are pleased to present an exhibit of paintings by John Holladay, on display on the library’s Art Wall on the lower level throughout the month of May. "Art in the Stacks" is an initiative of the Friends of the Library to provide artists an opportunity to show their work, and for library patrons to enjoy art throughout the year.
John Holladay moved to Vineyard Haven in 2001. He teaches Computer Graphics and Animation at Falmouth High School, and reverse commutes to work. John says me moved here instead of the Cape for two reasons: the people and the landscapes. On weekends and during the summer, he teaches at Featherstone Center for the Arts. His work can also be seen at Louisa Gould Gallery in Vineyard Haven, and at the Vineyard Artisans Festivals.
Before moving to Martha's Vineyard, John was a Graphic Artist entertaining fans by creating cartoons for Collegiate and Professional teams. These humourous cartoons may be seen on his website www.JohnHolladayGraphics.com. He has also done corporate work for Hewlett Packard, Hardees, John Deere, PGA Golf, Tropicana Resort, Universal Studios, Chicago Cubs and Charles Levy.
