Free Online Access to Boston Globe & Wall Street Journal with Boston Public Library eCard

 

Library patrons can now use a Boston Public Library eCard for free online access to the Boston Globe and Wall Street Journal. Use the links below to sign up for a free temporary account, that can be renewed as needed:

Boston Globe

• Up-to-the-moment access to Globe.com with no limit on the number of articles viewed.

Wall Street Journal

• Access will be available for the next 3 days (72 hours). A limited number of passes may be issued each day.
• After 3 days, simply come back and click the above link again and login as an existing user with the same username and password you originally created.
• Articles can be accessed back to January 1, 1997, but not market data or stock quotes from charts

You are eligible for a Boston Public Library eCard if you meet one of the following criteria:

• Your primary residence is in Massachusetts.
• You are living in Massachusetts for most of the year while attending school in-state.
• You work for a Massachusetts employer.
• You own a real-estate property in Massachusetts.

Free Online Newspaper Access, At Home or In the Library

You can now access the New York Times and Washington Post online for free using your library card. The links below will take you to library landing page where you can sign in for unlimited access to the newspaper website with a 3-day or 7-day pass -- you can renew your pass whenever needed by returning to the library website. Library newspaper passes will allow you to access this content anywhere you have internet access, on any device. This free access is made possible by the Martha's Vineyard Library Association with support from Friends of island libraries.

To access the Washington Post online HERE and enter the required fields to create a Washington Post account for unlimited 7-day access. Renew your seven day pass by returning to the library website. You may use this login and password for every future visit to the Washington Post online.



To access New York Times online click HERE and enter the code c59d2806040934a2. Then create a username and password for unlimited 3-day access. Renew your three day pass by returning to the library website. You may use this login and password for every future visit to the New York Times online.
 

AcornTV Ends May 14th 2021

Access to streaming content from AcornTV will no longer be available to Vineyard Haven Library patrons after May 14th, 2021. RBdigital, the current carrier of AcornTV, has been acquired by another company and has been unable to negotiate a new service agreement with AcornTV. We hope to restore this service in the future, and in the meantime some AcornTv content is available to Massachusetts residents through Boston Public Library's Hoopla resource for BPL eCard holders.

Martha's Vineyard library patrons now have free access the New York Times online. Simply click HERE and enter the code c59d2806040934a2. Create a username and password that you may use for your first login and for every future visit to the New York Times online.

Your code will give you unlimited access to articles for 72 hours. When your 72 hour access expires, simply return to our website to activate a redemption code for additional 72 hours of access with your New York Times account.
