September Programs for Children and Teens
Summer Reading ends September 8th! Be sure to come in and collect your prizes!

Mondays at 10:30am: Storytime with Weezie in the courtyard (indoors in case of rain)
Tuesdays at 10:30am: Storytime with Emily in the program room
Wednesdays at 3pm: Lego Club
Thursdays: Kids crafts is going on vacation, enjoy weekly Take & Makes until it returns!
Saturdays at 10:30am: Storytime with Emily in the program room
TEENS
Mondays from 3-5, Chill Zone in the program room for ages 12 and up. A relaxed hang out for teens with Nintendo Switch, Crafts, Games, Laptops, & More

Join us at the library for weekly story times on Mondays and Saturdays at 10:30am! Held outdoors in the courtyard weather permitting, or in the basement program space. No registration is necessary, contact Emily our Children's Librarian for more information!
Storytime Scavenger Hunt at the Family Center, Fridays at 9:30 am!
Join Emily our Children's Librarian at the MV Family Center for an outdoor storytime scavenger hunt, weather permitting. The Family Center is across the street from the library at 35 Greenwood Avenue. No registration required. No program 10/21.
Kids Crafts Thursdays at 3:30 pm!
Join Jennifer for some spook crafts on Thursdays at 3:30pm. Materials are provided and registration is not required, but attendance will be limited to first arrivals, while supplies last.

Belly Babies Prenatal Storytime!
Come join Vineyard Haven Library's Children's Librarian, Emily for newly added program, Belly Babies Prenatal Storytime. Belly Babies is a new storytime program that is geared toward pregnant moms-to-be. We will read stories and sing songs to our growing babies. Come meet and chat with other pregnant mamas, eat some light/healthy snacks and bond with your bump. Belly Babies Prenatal Storytime is happening on Sunday, January 13th from 2:00-3:00 pm, in the Vineyard Haven Library Program Room. Other dates to be announced. Children's Programs Schedule Update
Vineyard Haven Library's weekly children's programs are on hiatus for the first two weeks of June. On June 18th the library will resume weekly Preschool Storytimes, every Monday and Tuesday at 10:30 am throughout the summer. (There will be no Wednesday storytimes during the summer.)
Afternoon programs including Wednesday Build Club, Thursday Crafts, and Friday Game Time, will also resume the week of June 18th, at 3:30pm.
Special musical events for preschool age children will be offered on the following dates at 10:00 am and 11:00 am, instead of our regular 10:30 am programs:

Musical Storytime with Jeremy Berlin and Rob Meyers

School Vacation Week Activities February 26th - March 2nd
Vineyard Haven Library has planned special programs for kids of all ages during school vacation week.
Monday February 26th
10:30 am Over the Top Storytime including active play and simple craft. Best for ages 2-4.
11:45 AM - 12:45 PM Community Soup & Bread Lunch by Island Grown Initiative. All are welcome! Drop-in craft to follow.
Tuesday February 27th
10:30 am Tales for Tots: Traditional storytime. Best for ages 3-5.
7pm Dick Jennings: Osprey on Martha's Vineyard
Wednesday February 28th
10:30 am Wee Ones: Lapsit storytime. Best for ages 0-2.
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm Build Club: Minecraft Perler Beads. For ages 8 and up.
3:30 pm to 5pm Kids Movie: Enjoy an ice cream sundae while you watch a movie based on a New York Times bestseller, the film tells the inspiring story of a boy with facial differences who attends mainstream elementary school for the first time. Rated PG.
Thursday March 1st
2:45-3:45 Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday with cake and a very special guest reader.
4:00-5:30 Kids Movie: A fun-loving bulldog, a wise golden retriever, and a hilarious Siamese cat travel through the rugged Sierras in a search of their missing human family. Rated G.
Friday March 2nd
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm Craft: Day of the Dead confetti eggs. For ages 8 and up.
3:30 pm to 5pm Kids Movie: Despite his family's generations-old ban on music, young Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol Ernesto de la Cruz. Rated PG. Also enjoy some Mexican themed treats!
Daily: Visit the Children's Room to create something amazing at the Tinker Table during school vacation days.
Children under age 8 should be accompanied by a parent or mature caregiver.

1:30 pm to 3 pm Kids Movie: Mary Poppins. Rated G.
3:30 pm to 5 pm Storycrafts: Make a soda bottle birdfeeder. Best for ages 5 and up.
Friday December 29th

Spring Schedule Changes
The Vineyard Haven Public Library will be closed on Sundays beginning April 16th. Sunday hours will resume after Columbus Day. The Library and other Town offices will be closed for the day on Monday April 17st due to the Patriots Day holiday.
This Spring, Vineyard Haven Library will be offering storytime programs on both Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at 10:30am. The Tuesday morning "Tales for Tots" Storytime is best for ages 3 and up, and the Wednesday morning "Wee Ones" Storytime will be geared towards children younger than age three.
The Friends of the Library have announced new extended hours for their monthly "mini" book sales, which will now be held on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 11am to 3pm. Proceeds benefit children's programs and other library services sponsored by the Friends.
