On Monday, June 3rd at 6pm, the Vineyard Haven Public Library Building Committee and Board of Trustees will host a community meeting to share initial site plans for a proposed multipurpose meeting room at the library, and provide a progress report on the project. All are welcome and refreshments will be served.
Vineyard Haven Public Library has engaged Maryann Thompson, Architects, to design an addition to the library building at 200 Main Street, in order to build a multipurpose meeting room. The Library Building Design and Construction Committee has been working with the design team to update the building program, review site plan options and accomplish an initial conceptual design phase of the project.
Following this community meeting, Maryann Thompson will be creating a schematic design for the new space, and producing a menu of other potential building improvements. Prior to construction, the library will be undertaking a capital campaign to raise the funds for the proposed addition.
More information about the proposed addition is available on the library website at http://vhlibrary.org/Building.shtml.

4th Annual MV Mini Maker Faire Saturday, May 11th at the Ag Hall
The Fourth Annual Martha's Vineyard Mini Maker Faire will be held on Saturday May 11, from 10-4 at the Ag Hall. This is a free event to make, create, learn, invent, craft, think, play, celebrate, and be inspired by science, technology, arts, engineering, and math. Maker Faire is family friendly, and all ages are welcome.
The Maker Faire will be a day filled with fun and learning. Many of our presenters will have hands on activities for both children and adults. Come learn to rust dye or use a cricut electronic cutter, step inside an inflatable life-sized whale, try virtual reality, or watch a robotics competition. The Martha's Vineyard Library Association brought the Mini Maker Faire to Martha’s Vineyard because we know this is an Island of extraordinary people doing cool stuff and we want to create a forum where everyone could share their project or special interest!
