Local artists will have an opportunity to feature their work in a group show at the Vineyard Haven Library this June. The show will be held from June 2nd through 14th, and will feature recent work by local artists. This year's show will be curated by Francine Kelly and coordinated by Jennifer Rapuano at the library. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Vineyard Haven Public Library, who will host a reception for participating artists and the public on Tuesday June 3rd from 5:30 to 7:30pm.
Artists interested in participating may contact the library for details on submitting their work. The deadline for submissions will be May 1, 2014. Artwork submitted for consideration can be in any medium including photography, painting, drawing, ceramics, mixed media, jewelry, computer design, and collage. The Library can accommodate wall-mountable two-dimensional work or small three-dimensional pieces. Site-specific installations may also be proposed. We recommend that wall pieces should not be larger then 4 feet in length or width.
Submissions may be sent via email to francine@featherstoneart.org, or dropped off at the library during regular library hours. The curator will consider recent work (2012 and later) and submissions should include the artist's contact information, an artist statement, an image of the work, and information about the work including title, media, and dimensions. Multiple works may be submitted but due to space considerations not all submissions will be exhibited. Artists will be notified after May 15th if their work has been accepted.
