Philip Weinstein, the Alexander Griswold Cummins Professor of English Emeritus at Swarthmore College, will present the next in the ongoing program series "Islanders Read the Classics", with a six-part seminar on Marcel Proust's In Search of Lost Time. This free seminar will be held at the Katharine Cornell Theater in Vineyard Haven.
In order to allow the library to prepare class materials and communicate with students, please sign up in advance at the library, or register online.
Professor Weinstein will be using the Random House/Modern Library
edition, translated by C.K. Scott Moncrieff and Terence Kilmartin ;
revised by D.J. Enright. A limited number of copies are available
through CLAMS, or may be requested through the Commonwealth Catalog.

The "Islanders Read the Classics" series is presented by the Martha's Vineyard Library Association in partnership with the Martha's Vineyard Times. Participants are encouraged to read the books in advance, however it is not required.
