Vineyard Haven and Oak Bluffs libraries announce a new Domestic Affairs discussion series, to foster civil community discourse and greater understanding of issues affecting Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, and the nation. Meetings will be held on Thursday evenings and are open to everyone, covering a wide variety of topics with presentations and group discussion.
The series begins at the Oak Bluffs library on Thursday, January 30th at 6:30pm, with a discussion on Island drug and opioid problems. The speaker and discussion leader will be County Commissioner Christine Todd, who will be talking about her personal experience of trying to guide a family member through the ups and downs of addiction treatment and to lead us to better understanding of the drug problem on Martha's Vineyard.
