Recycle Your Ink Jet Cartridges at the Library
Many of us use ink jet printer cartridges at home with our computers. Did you know that over 1 million printer cartridges per day are thrown away? That’s more than 11 cartridges per second! Most end up in our landfills, and it can take up to 1,000 years for these cartridges to decompose. Around 70% of all inkjet cartridges are not recycled. This large abundance of waste can be reduced... by all of us.
The League of Women Voters of Martha’s Vineyard is helping our landfills, our Island, and our planet by recycling used inkjet cartridges. You can help by saving your used cartridges in a baggie, and dropping them off in the green collection box in the Vineyard Haven Library entryway. Drop off hours are from noon to 5pm, Monday through Saturday. Thank you for helping!
